The Learn
Through Play Experience
A typical day:
Greeting Time-The teacher and parents assisting in the classroom greet children as they arrive. Children are then encouraged to hang up coat and backpack and join the other children in the classroom.
Circle Time- children assemble on the rug for a story to begin class. Children are then given classroom helper job assignments and are given an explanation of the center activities.
Discovery Time- children are encouraged to engage in various classroom activities. This is when free play occurs, as well as art; science or any other center activities take place.
Circle Time- most children assemble on the rug for stories, poems, finger plays, etc. while parents and child of the day prepares for snack.
Snack Time
Show and Tell- child of the day gets to share a special item from home with the rest of the class.
Music/Movement Time- class sings songs, plays musical instruments and/or engages in a teacher led movement activity.
Small Group Time
Outdoor Time- class ends the preschool session on the playground. |
